Beauty on a Budget

beauty budget

Pop Quiz: Do you know the average price an average person spends per year on aesthetic & injectable treatments? Let’s dive into a few tricks and tips on how you can be budget friendly and still receive those aesthetic and injectable treatments you love! Then we’ll come back to answer that question!

Prevention vs Correction

One of the biggest factors when it comes to starting/receiving aesthetic and injectable treatments and services is cost! Of course we all research the latest trends, the best injectors, the most popular location, but let’s face it; the number one question is “how much is this going to cost me?” If you’re anything like myself, you love a great deal! However, when it comes to permanent decisions, price shopping and discounts may not always warrant the best results in the aesthetics field. Let’s take a deep dive into how we can get the best bang for our buck!

First things first! When it comes to aesthetic and injectable treatments, it’s a lot easier and much more cost effective to think of prevention as opposed to correction. Start early! No age (unless you’re a minor of course) is too early to start receiving treatments. Starting these types of treatments in your early 20s can be a very smart & strategic financial game changer. While many people associate neurotoxins (Botox), injectable fillers and lasers with anti-aging and wrinkle reduction, its benefits go beyond just aesthetics. By addressing early signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, in your 20s, you can prevent these issues from becoming more pronounced in your 30s and beyond.

Fine lines and wrinkles, aging, sun and age spots and even pore size are all things we can start fighting against early on. Starting early can help keep some money in your pocket because eventually, you won’t need as many units of Botox or syringes of filler to maintain the upkeep! The cost of aesthetic and injectable treatments in your 20s may seem like an unnecessary expense, but when you consider the cumulative expenses of more extensive treatments or surgeries that might be required in the future, it becomes a cost-effective investment. Absolute no-brainer, right?

Starting these treatments sooner can effectively slow down the aging process, reduce the development of deep-set wrinkles, prevent discoloration and overall, help maintain a youthful appearance. In addition, preventative aesthetic services (HydraFacials, VI Peels, Moxi treatments, etc) are a little less expensive because you can sprinkle your treatments here and there as opposed to completing a full series (on average 2-4 treatments) of corrective treatments. Additionally, these treatments can prevent the need for more invasive and even more expensive procedures, such as facelifts or deep resurfacing lasers, which become necessary as signs of aging progress.

By taking proactive measures in your 20s, you can enjoy the benefits of a smoother, more youthful complexion and potentially save substantial amounts of money on more drastic interventions later in life. In this way, aesthetic and injectable treatments can be viewed as a proactive financial strategy for maintaining your youthful appearance while minimizing the financial burden of more extensive anti-aging treatments down the road.

Now let’s say you’re a little more like me…seasoned in the game! (That’s my polite way of saying “more mature.”) We weren’t awarded the opportunity to start receiving treatments and services in our 20s. Fret not! I still have some tips and tricks up my sleeve to help save you some money. Stay with me!

Rewards Programs

I would drive past 10 gas stations to get to Kroger so that I can save ¢35 a gallon. I wouldn’t dare go shopping at my local Food Lion & not scan my keychain to see what sales and deals were offered in the store. Are you catching my drift? Rewards programs are an amazing way to save money on aesthetic and injectable services! I would highly recommend calling the office you plan on visiting for services and finding out what rewards programs they utilize for additional savings. Let’s review a couple that we accept here at Rêvée Aesthetics.

Allē Loyalty Program

Allē is a great way to be rewarded for receiving the treatments you already know and love! Allē allows you to receive rewards points for just about any and every treatment you can think of in a medical spa setting. There’s currently over 50 different types of products and services that allow you to gain rewards points. From injectable filler to laser treatments, medically supervised weight loss, you name it! If the office you’re visiting uses the Allē program, for every treatment and/or product purchase, they will log your points into your account. For every 100 points, that’s equivalent to $10 you can redeem for your future visit.

Another great way to maximize your savings using Allē is to participate in their GiftCard sales and promotions. Two of the most popular promotions they have are Juvederm Day & Botox Day. Juvederm Day happens on the third Wednesday of August annually. Whereas Botox Day happens on the third Wednesday of November. Both days, Allē has a BOGO deal on GiftCards (the amounts vary). Additionally, they usually provide double and sometimes even triple points on services and treatments received for the weeks surrounding those days! The best way I’ve seen this practiced is to load up your Allē wallet (their GiftCards have no expiration date) and present them the next time you checkout for your in office treatment and/or purchase!

Aspire Galderma Rewards

Aspire Rewards is another fantastic rewards based program for injectable services. Similar to Allē, you receive points for many different products and services. Unlike Allē, you may only receive and redeem points for Galderma and Galderma partner products and services. You receive $10 for every 100 points you acquire with your account. A bonus is that they give you a complimentary $20 Welcome Coupon that you can redeem the same day you join. With Aspire, you can also receive rewards points for referrals and competing surveys.

The great thing about both of these rewards systems is that they are FREE! They are both available in app form and can be found in both the Apple App Store and Google Play. I’ll also provide the links so that you can easily sign up from here!

Membership Programs

As with BJ’s, Costco and Sam’s Club, sometimes you have to spend a little to get a lot! Memberships are another great way to help keep some money in your pocket. Memberships are becoming more and more popular in the beauty industry. It doesn’t hurt to call around to a few medical spas in your area to scope out which membership program would be best suitable for you. Membership programs can also be a great way to try new services and products at a discounted rate (sometimes even complimentary) that you possibly wouldn’t try due to cost!

Becoming a Member at Rêvée

The membership program we offer here at Rêvée is a great way to not only save money but make sure you are staying consistent with your treatments and services. Our membership program has a low cost of only $20 monthly! Included with your membership is a discount rate on both Botox and Dysport units, a complimentary Signature HydraFacial and 10% off of all retail products (including skincare). Botox units average between $14-15 per unit depending on the office. With our membership, the units are only $12! For Dysport (a different brand of neurotoxins) the units are only $4 per unit as opposed to the regular price of $5.

If you’d like more information on our membership program, you can take a look at our website!

Financing

Which option sounds better: A total of $100 or 4 low payments of only $25? Let’s face it, Afterpay, Klarna, Quadpay, Sezzle, Zip (I could really keep going) and so many other companies are taking over the realm of online shopping. If presented with the option to spread out my payments instead of paying in full upfront, I’m taking it! Financing options can take the stress off of paying a large sum of money all at once. The most popular financing options in the medical industry are CareCredit, LLC and Cherry Financing.

CareCredit, LLC

CareCredit, LLC is a health and wellness credit card that has flexible financing options to make paying over time simple. Whether it’s medical care that you absolutely need or nonessential services that you’re just interested in, CareCredit, LLC has you covered! The great thing about CareCredit, LLC is that it’s accepted at over $260,000 offices and facilities. Patients use it to pay for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by medical insurance. Special financing options are available that you may not be able to get with other traditional credit cards. CareCredit, LLC offers both short term and long term financing options. You do not need to select which financing promotion is best fit for you, the office you visit will handle that for you.

Cherry Financing

Financing with Cherry is fairly new in the beauty industry! More and more offices are becoming aware of the program and are starting to offer it to patients. Unlike CareCredit, LLC, Cherry is by specific offices. Essentially, even if you visit more than one office that accepts Cherry as a form of payment, your account isn’t transferable. You would need to establish multiple accounts. Similar to CareCredit, LLC, Cherry allows you to receive treatments and services with the option to pay over time. Cherry qualifies patients up to $15,000. The benefits of applying with Cherry is that there are no are no hidden fees, there is a fast application process, there’s no hard credit check and they offer payment plans that fit any budget!

If you’d like to see the payment plan options before you go into an office for treatment, you can pre-qualify and see which budget-friendly plan is best for you!

Bundling and Packaging

Whenever I hear the words “bundle” and “package,” my nerves get BAD! All I can hear is “spend more money!” HOWEVER, when it comes to savings, sometimes it is, indeed, better to buy in bulk! For a lot of aesthetic services, for best results, it’s highly recommended to complete a full series as opposed to stand alone treatments. For this reason, most offices will have both single pricing and package pricing. Some of the most popular treatments that are offered in package pricing are Laser Hair Removal, MicroNeedling, BBLs and even Chemical Peels. Purchasing treatments is a great way to save anywhe

re between $100-350 on treatments you’re already receiving.

As far as bundling, don’t wait to think about those add-on services! If you’re MicroNeedling your face, don’t forget to ask about your neck and chest during that same appt! You’d be surprised how many offices will discount those additional services when you choose to receive them that day. Just an example of what this may look like: A Moxi treatment for your neck alone in our office is $500, however, if you add it to your face treatment, it’s only $100! Do not underestimate the power of packaging and bundling your aesthetic and injectable treatments!

Protecting Your Investment

Now we’ve covered a lot of possibilities while in the office for your treatments and services. Here’s what you can do at home to help save money. Protect your investment! I’m sure your dentist has told you about the 20-80 rule. Your oral care is 20% of what happens at your dental office and 80% of what you do at home. You can not expect to get your routine cleaning done once every 6 months and not have to worry about caring for your teeth at home. You have to brush your teeth daily (twice a day), floss, use a mouth rinse, etc. to help maintain your proper hygiene. Same thing applies to the maintenance of your skin! Going into an office to get regular facials, Botox and injectable fillers will absolutely make a difference in your skin. However, the magic happens at home!

Investing in quality medical grade skincare is very impactful when it comes to saving money on aesthetic and injectable services. When you take care of your skin at home, it minimizes the number of services and treatments you may need in the long run. It may also even decrease the number of units (Botox) and syringes (injectable filler) you may need at your future appointments.

We don’t even have to get into a full skincare regimen; that’s for another day. The ONE product I will encourage you to buy today, if you don’t have any, is SPF. Any brand, any coverage, any application type. Buy one & put it on DAILY!

If you are interested in other types of products that will absolutely add additional benefits, you can check out our online store here!

Ready, Set, Go!

Okay, now that you have all of your ducks in a row, it’s time to start saving! Take all of these tricks and tips and maximize your dollars! The best thing about every tip I gave you, is that you can bundle them all together! Apply every single one to your next (or first) visit to a medical spa. Do you remember the very first question I asked you? Do you know the average price an average person spends per year on aesthetic & injectable treatments? The answer is anywhere between $900-$3,600. But that’s not going to be the case for you: because we’re gettin beauty on a budget!
