At Revee Aesthetics in Richmond, VA, HALO® treatments are thoughtfully customized to your skin and your goals—focusing on improving overall skin quality with precision and intention.

What HALO® laser treats

HALO is ideal for patients looking to improve:

  • Sun damage and pigmentation

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Rough or textured skin

  • Enlarged pores

  • Dull or tired-looking skin

It’s a great option if you’re not quite ready for aggressive resurfacing, but want more noticeable results than lighter laser treatments.

What makes HALO® different

HALO is a hybrid fractional laser, which means it treats both the surface of the skin and deeper layers at the same time.

This allows for:

  • More noticeable results in fewer treatments

  • Customizable intensity depending on your goals

  • A balance of results and downtime

Compared to more aggressive lasers, HALO offers significant improvement without the extended recovery time. If you’re curious whether HALO is the right fit, a consultation is the best place to start. We’ll assess your skin, walk through your goals, and create a plan that’s tailored to you.

What to expect after a HALO® treatment

Day 1–2: Redness, warmth, and mild swelling (similar to a sunburn)

Day 2–4: Skin may feel rough or “sandpaper-like” as it begins to renew

Day 3–5: Pigmented areas darken and flake off

1–2 Weeks: Noticeably smoother, brighter skin

Longer Term: Continued improvement in tone, texture, and skin quality

HALO® FAQs

How does HALO® laser work?

The Halo laser is a hybrid fractional laser that combines two types of laser technologies: ablative and non-ablative.  Ablative Fractional Laser: The ablative component of the Halo laser removes thin layers of the skin using laser energy. This process is known as ablation and helps to resurface the skin by targeting and vaporizing damaged skin cells. The laser creates microscopic channels or columns in the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. Non-Ablative Fractional Laser: The non-ablative component of the Halo laser delivers laser energy deep into the skin without removing the outer layers. This stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. Collagen production helps improve the overall texture, tone, and firmness of the skin. The combination of ablative and non-ablative lasers allows the Halo laser to treat both the superficial and deeper layers of the skin simultaneously. This results in more comprehensive skin rejuvenation, addressing a range of concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and texture irregularities.

What is laser skin resurfacing and how does HALO® compare?

Laser skin resurfacing is a treatment designed to improve tone, texture, and overall skin quality by targeting both the surface and deeper layers of the skin. HALO is a hybrid fractional laser that offers more noticeable results than lighter treatments, while still allowing for a customizable level of downtime.

Is HALO the best laser treatment for sun damage and uneven skin tone?

HALO is one of the most effective laser treatments for improving sun damage, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone. It works by targeting discoloration while also stimulating collagen, helping skin look smoother and more even over time.

What is the downtime for HALO®?

While every patient is different, HALO laser typically involves 5–7 days of downtime. During this time, you can expect redness, mild swelling, and a textured “sandpaper-like” feel as your skin begins to heal and renew. Most patients feel comfortable returning to normal activities within a few days, with continued improvement as the skin clears and brightens. At Revee Aesthetics in Richmond, VA, we provide detailed aftercare and guide you through what to expect at each stage of healing. A consultation can help determine if HALO fits your schedule and desired level of downtime.
