What type of specialist does CoolSculpting®?

A physician or a specially trained healthcare professional performs a CoolSculpting® procedure. Since fat reduction is considered a medical aesthetic procedure, only properly trained and qualified providers can perform it. An in-person exam by either a doctor, a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant should be conducted prior to the initial treatment. According to the American Med Spa Association, most states will allow med spa professionals (including those who are not licensed RNs or doctors) to perform CoolSculpting® procedures as long as they have proper training, education and supervision.

How many times can you CoolSculpt an area?

There is no limit to how many times a specific area can have a CoolSculpting® treatment, but it is recommended to wait for a minimum of 30 days before getting a second treatment on the same area. It may be slightly more effective to wait a little while after the initial session, however, as the best results are typically seen around three months after the first treatment.

How many sessions will you require?

The number of CoolSculpting® sessions required to reach your goal will depend on your unique physiology and the areas to be treated but, as a general rule, most patients see a marked improvement after one to three sessions on each problem area.  One session is normally enough for smaller areas, but the back or abdomen, for example, will take two or three sessions.  One of the advantages of having a personalized program at Rêvée is that we offer a free consultation in which we can meet with you to discuss your goals and objectives.  At that visit we will evaluate the areas that are causing you concern and will formulate a treatment plan, including our recommendation for the number of cycles/treatment, that will best meet your needs.

What is the cost of CoolSculpting®?

Researching the costs of anything can be problematic as conflicting information can sometimes muddy the waters. The official CoolSculpting® website doesn’t give actual costs of treatment, just that costs will vary depending on the number of treatments needed, the areas of concern and the individual’s goals and expectations. Other things that can factor into the cost include where the patient lives, the provider, and the number of follow-up appointments, if any, that may be needed.

Costs will also, naturally, be based on the area of the body being treated – the smaller the treatment area, the lower the cost etc., and treating multiple areas will also make a difference.  A general ball-park figure for a CoolSculpting® treatment in Virginia is approximately $750 per treatment site, but the actual cost of an individual treatment plan at Rêvée will be discussed at the initial free consultation.  We understand that costs of treatment can be high and so are pleased to offer convenient financing options to help spread the cost and allow our patients to benefit from their new-look body sooner!

How long is the recovery period from CoolSculpting®?

As CoolSculpting® is completely non-invasive there is none of the recovery required following a traditional surgical procedure.  There is no downtime, no wounds, stitches or potential complications from anesthesia to deal with, meaning that patients can return to their day straight after the treatment.

If you would like to know more about CoolSculpting®, the way it works and how it can benefit you, contact Rêvée today to book your free consultation! You can book through our website or call us. We serve patients from Richmond VA, Glen Allen VA, Mechanicsville VA, Midlothian VA, Goochland VA, Chesterfield VA, Powhatan VA, Fredericksburg VA, Williamsburg VA, and Charlottesville, VA.
