CoolSculpting® employs cryolipolysis technology, which freezes and eventually removes stubborn, undesirable fat. Rolls of fatty tissue are sucked into a special applicator, which cools them to near-freezing temperatures and kills the fat cells inside. The fat secreted by these cells is then processed by the lymphatic system before being naturally excreted from the body in the form of human waste. The temperatures utilized in CoolSculpting® are not cold enough to cause damage to the skin, muscles, or nerves. CoolSculpting® was certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010 as a safe and effective alternative to liposuction for decreasing persistent fat bulges on the belly, hips, inner and outer thighs, back, upper arms, and behind the chin. Patients may read, answer emails, watch their favorite program, or even take a nap while the gadget is functioning because it is a low-risk, non-invasive process. After the operation, a brief massage is administered to relieve any numbness or swelling created by the device, as well as to assist the body in absorbing dead fat cells and breaking down any frozen deep tissue.

One thing to keep in mind is that while CoolSculpting® is efficient in reducing fat, it is not a weight reduction solution.
